I work one-on-one with students to brainstorm, draft, and edit essays for college and high school applications. Depending on what is most helpful, I offer remote or in-person counseling hours and draft revisions. In the case of revisions, I require one initial counseling session to discuss the student's background and the goals they have for their essay or essays.
I am a New York Times journalist and 2023 Bowdoin College graduate. Among my college acceptances in 2019 were offers from Yale University, Colorado College, Wesleyan University, Wellesley College and Tufts University. I have since helped students with essays that have earned them admittance to college, prep school, medical school and law school. I love personal essays and am thrilled to help students represent themselves as thoughtfully, authentically, and successfully as possible.
I am based in Manhattan and am willing to meet students in person in Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn. Otherwise, I am happy to meet virtually.
I am an award-winning journalist with more than five years of professional experience reporting and editing. I have learned to work with all kinds of writers. As a middle sister, I have honed the art of communicating with and providing feedback to older and younger students, and I have a keen understanding of handling disappointment, discouragement, excitement, and nervousness. I am patient, calm, and creative, and as a babysitter with more than a decade of experience, I know how to care. My goal is to make your students feel empowered, comfortable, understood, and prepared.
