I am looking to sublet my fully furnished 1-bedroom apartment for $1500 per month, inclusive of utilities. The apartment is quiet and gets great light - very nice for working or studying from home. It's located in the friendly and diverse neighborhood of Kensington, just a mile from Prospect Park, and close to the F, G, and Q trains, as well as many Citibikes. I am not looking to profit from the rental of this rent-stabilized apartment, just looking for someone clean and respectful who will take good care of it and benefit from the below market-rate cost. Please keep in mind that the apartment, while very functional, is in an older pre-war building and comes with a few quirks (radiator heating, an old elevator, etc). I also have two cats, and though they will not be here while you are, the apartment may not be suitable for those who are extremely allergic.
Thanks for your interest!
I'm a gender studies professor at a college in New England; I sublet my apartment while I'm away during school semesters. I've lived in New York for nearly 20 years, and have been in this apartment for four years.
A deposit of the first month's rent will be required to hold the apartment, with first month due upon move-in. I'll return the deposit upon the end of the sublet. Prefer to rent to people already in NYC so we can meet in-person, but happy to zoom or FaceTime with out-of-towners.
