“The Dove” is a 19th Century summer cottage on our land in Truro off Castle Road. It’s about a 2/3 mile walk to Corn Hill Beach along the green marshes of the Little Pamet and a ten minute drive from Provincetown. The Dove is one of three houses on the property. We live in the 18th Century Main House nearby, yet far enough away for ample privacy. There is another larger cottage on the land available for guests to rent as well.
The Dove is a summer cottage: rustic, cozy, charming, and comfortable. It has steep stairs up to the bedroom, where there is one twin and one double bed. This arrangement snugly accommodates a maximum of two persons, no exceptions. On the main floor is a living room/dining room, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with vintage half clawfoot tub/shower, outdoor shower, wifi, window unit AC, plenty of fans, and an open outdoor seating area in front of the cottage. Guests are encouraged to bring their own linens, but if this is a hardship we can provide sheets and towels for a small fee. There is a washer but no dryer. Guests are welcome to use the clothesline nearby. Camping on the land is not permitted. There is parking for two vehicles.
We have a small farm including chickens and a vocal rooster. Fresh eggs are for sale by request. We also have a friendly old German Shepherd, Elke, and an in-and-outdoor cat, Marquesa. We do not allow renters to bring or have visits from other pets. Beach stickers are available through the town of Truro.
Our place is lovely, private, and reminiscent of old Cape Cod. We look forward to accommodating you!
Megan (she/her) and Paula (she/her) are owners and managers of the property. Megan is the contact person for the tenants. Megan is a visual artist and educator and Paula is a community organizer and farmer.
