I handle everything from concept development and artist selection to installation logistics, PR coordination, and opening events.

My approach focuses on creating opportunities for underrepresented artists and building exhibitions that feel welcoming instead of exclusive. I work with alternative spaces, galleries, art fairs, and pop-up venues—anywhere artists actually want to show their work.

About this Lister

I'm a curator and cultural producer who's spent 11 years creating exhibition opportunities that actually serve artists instead of extracting from them. I run Shoebox Projects at the Brewery Arts Complex in LA, publish Art and Cake Magazine (1,881+ articles), and founded Call and Response—a global artist collaboration program that's connected hundreds of artists through random pairings and creative exchange.

I think a lot about how to make the art world less intimidating and more accessible. My exhibitions tend to have big themes that give artists room to interpret rather than tight curatorial conceits that only work for certain kinds of work.

Background and Expertise

Art historian with 20+ years of curatorial experience. Founded Shoebox Projects gallery space in 2014 and have curated 50+ exhibitions including "Let Me Eat Cake Please" (80+ works, 52 artists), "Making America" (handmade flag artworks), "Bloom" (flower-focused group show), and numerous thematic exhibitions.

Created and manage Call and Response, which has produced 20+ rounds of collaborative programming connecting artists globally. Published Art and Cake Magazine covering LA's art scene since 2011. Extensive experience with exhibition logistics, artist liaison, installation coordination, PR and marketing for shows, and community programming.

Presented at LA Art Fair, Startup Art Fair, Launch LA and various alternative spaces. Regular speaker and guest curator for artist organizations. Connected to LA's gallery network, alternative spaces, and working artist communities.
