About this Service

We are an artist couple who have been making hand crafted picture frames since 2016. We specialize in custom milled hardwood profiles, hand finishes and archival hinging and fitting methods. Our designs are simple but distinctive, with a sensitivity towards both form and function.

We’re happy to provide estimates via email. Artwork dimensions (and a picture, if possible) are a good starting point. You can also make an appointment to meet with us and look at samples at our studio in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

Our prices start at $250 and vary depending on a number of factors, including size, profile complexity, wood species, finish, fitting treatment, and glass/plexi options.

Independent artist-run picture framing studio based in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

Background and Expertise

Over the past decade we have worked with numerous artists, collectors, galleries, and other institutions, to produce custom framing projects.

We met while studying for our Visual Arts MFA. Looking for independent work to support ourselves as artists, we setup our business, Ashmun Workshop, shortly after graduating in 2016. The two of us have worked at other esteemed frame shops in NYC, contributing to our knowledge of the craft.
