Overview
Founded in 2016, Remix ⟷ Culture’s (RC) mission is to counter cultural erasure by collaboratively documenting and remixing the musical traditions and stories of underrepresented communities. We recognize the systemic barriers BIPOC artists face and believe that investing in them creates a powerful ripple effect: empowering the artists themselves fosters pride within their communities, inspiring the wider world to see them–and other cultures–with greater curiosity and empathy. We believe that by honoring, amplifying, transmitting, and reimagining the ancestral wisdom embedded in musical traditions and stories through innovative and immersive music productions co-created with traditional BIPOC musicians and remix artists, we are shifting the narrative about these communities, building a more vibrant, resilient, and interconnected world, and ‘remixing’ our societies towards more compassion and collective solidarity.

Remix ⟷ Culture (RC) seeks a seasoned and collaborative Development and Fundraising Consultant to support the launch of RC’s new development and resource mobilization initiatives during this critical phase. This is an exciting time to be supporting RC as we are launching new multidisciplinary community art programs around our ethical remixing methodology. The Consultant will provide critical development services to help us shape a radical new fundraising model that mirrors our core values of cultural integrity, relational collaboration, artist-centered equity, music for all, community exchange and belonging, and ethical innovation. We’re looking for a passionate and experienced development expert with a social impact entrepreneurial mindset to help us cultivate sustainable income sources and build the infrastructure and resources needed to enable underrepresented artists to lead, create, and thrive.

The Consultant will work in close collaboration with the Executive Director.
