For rent: a single bedroom in a 3 bedroom apartment located in Ditmas Park, on Cortelyou road. Rent is $850 monthly (plus $75 in utilities). Available for September 1st. Looking for long term roommate, at least 6 months if not longer.

The bedroom: 8x10, with a good sized closet in the hallway nearby. The current furniture except the red shelf will be removed (for reference the bed in the photos is Queen sized). There are 3 small corner shelves installed as well. The window faces west and has nice light during the day. Includes a window AC unit. It works and is yours to use, but is old and may need replacement soon, can be removed if you prefer as well. The room has been thoroughly cleaned and recently painted.

The apartment: It is a beloved 3 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment in a small pre-war building. It's located on the second floor and there is a commercial space below and only one unit above. It has beautiful original wood floors, tall ceilings and good sunlight. The kitchen is fully decked out, has a microwave and toaster oven. Internet/WiFi is Optimum cable internet. Common/living has a large TV (with Roku), couch, coffee table, some other assorted furniture, and various thriving plants. Robotic vacuum cleans a couple times a week. THERE IS currently a very friendly CAT that lives here.

The neighborhood: Apartment is located directly on Cortelyou Rd, the main thoroughfare of beautiful Ditmas Park. A very family oriented neighborhood. There are many excellent restaurants on the street, several coffee shops, ice cream shops, dollar stores, bodegas, bars, many grocery store options, laundry and more. Located a 5 minute walk to the Cortelyou Q train, and a longer but doable walk to the F or B trains as well. The B68 and B103 buses are within a block. Prospect park is less than a mile to the north and the neighborhood is surrounded by gorgeous Victorian houses to the north and south.

Who we are: living in the apartment full time is a woman in mid 30's working mon-fri in the performing arts field. She has been in this apartment for a number of years. One of the bedrooms is a practice/storage space for myself - early 40's male who is a musician. I have inhabited this apartment for 13 years, and while I no longer live here full time I take care of the apartment and am in charge of paying rent and interfacing with landlord etc. I am there 2-3 days a week to practice (saxophone & woodwinds) though never before 10am or after 10pm. We are very respectful of each other's space, always asking before inviting friends to stay over. Kitchen must be kept very clean to avoid pests. No smoking in the apartment.

Who you are: preferably female, though we are happy to meet with anyone interested. Drama free, relaxed and respectful individual looking for a quiet, stable apartment in a beautiful neighborhood. No dogs, but cat(s) may be possible.
