My high-ceilinged, sun-filled, and primely located Culver City apartment has a private bedroom and private bathroom available for rent starting mid-August. Move in Sept 1 at latest. Seeking female roommate for ongoing stay, as my current roommate is moving to attend UC Irvine for grad school after a year-long lease.
Private bedroom (unfurnished) is 135 sq. ft., including a large closet with sliding door spanning length of the wall (opposite window). Private bathroom is 40 sq. ft., including full bath, shower, toilet, sink, and horizontal wall-length mirror with wide 3-bulb light fixture.
Rent covers cost of private bed/bath, parking spot, and water. The building features front-landscaping, a short flight of steps to the entrance, and a courtyard (shared with other units). Coin-operated washers and dryers located down another short flight of stairs to the parking structure. Other residents are very friendly and span all ages (20s to elderly). Landlord is a sweet, attentive, and responsive retired couple.
The apartment, upstairs on second floor, opens to a large, bright shared space with high-ceilinged and furnished living room and dining area/galley kitchen (equipped with all appliances including dishwasher and microwave). Has newly done wood floors, beautiful white-painted walls, a large shared closet, and a Nest thermostat (AC/heating) with high quality filters.
The apartment is conveniently and centrally located, highly accessible by car, bike, and foot. By car, you can reach Santa Monica, Westwood, or DTLA in 15-20 mins. You are also 3 mins walking from Venice & Hughes bus stop (with connecting access to R12 line, for UCLA campus), 10 mins walking from the Expo Line (direct beach access), and 6 mins walking from the bustling historic downtown Culver City. Nearby (25 mins walking/6 mins driving) is also the large pet-friendly Culver City Park, Ballona Creek bike path (to Venice Beach), and Baldwin Hill Scenic Overlook hike. In the immediate neighborhood are abundant high quality grocery stores, cafes, and restaurants, including the beloved Village Well Books/Coffee.
As a recent UCLA graduate myself, my ideal roommate is a young (20s/30s) woman who is clean, respectful, quiet, and a strong communicator. While I enjoy occasionally hosting, I like to keep a peaceful atmosphere most of the time. Evenings, I sometimes watch shows and movies (on a high-quality projector that I am happy to share). In terms of cleaning, I generally wipe down surfaces after use (ie. cooking) and vacuum/take out trash/recycling at least once a week, and would expect the same level of cleanliness from an roommate. The kitchen is large enough for two people to cook at the same time.
Since graduating from UCLA in Spring 2024, I have worked as a private tutor, restaurant hostess, and climbing instructor. I sometimes work from home in my room. I go to bed relatively early and enjoy watching movies/shows in the evening. I also love taking advantage of all the local restaurants, parks, shops, bookstores, and bike paths in the area—as well as taking the Expo line train to the beach (or driving) every so often. I am also an avid cook and farmer's market-goer. The lively Tuesday Culver City market is just a 10 mins walk away!
Security deposit of $1600 to be submitted in addition to first rent ($1550). Other documentation includes lease agreement, to be completed before September 1.
Pets are allowed for an additional $25/mo fee as long as they are well trained, friendly and quiet, preferably with minimal or managed shedding.
