This lovely one-bedroom apartment is looking for a new tenant. It is a 4th-floor walk-up (top floor, no access to the roof, no elevator), in a medium-sized building (total 20 units). Proper buzzer and key brickstone building.
The other tenants in the building are mostly families with no small kids, so it is a quiet building, especially the 4th floor. I rarely see or hear my neighbours. Everyone is private and very mindful of each other. Our super lives on the first floor. She is available any time and has been the most accommodating and helpful with anything I needed over the last 4 years I've lived here.
As you can see from the pictures, the apartment has a good layout. When you walk in, there is a small hallway with a shoe rack and a mirror. Great for a last-minute glance before heading out. As well as a good-sized closet, which I use for storing my workout equipment, tools, and bathroom supplies. Past the hallway, on the left, we have another shoe cabinet (can't have too many shoes) and a small bathroom with a bathtub. I sometimes use the top of the shoe cabinet as an extra skincare shelf, but it's also not necessary, seeing as there are 2 cabinets in the bathroom (top with a mirror and bottom cabinet under the sink). After the bathroom, we enter a spacious and bright living room. The big window allows light to naturally flow in and make the room feel cozy and warm. There are colourful floating shelves above the TV and a large grey dresser. Across the room, there is a big, grey, comfortable couch (adorned with colourful pillows and a blanket)as well as a white coffee table, a large white bookshelf, another medium-sized closet, a small DIY bar, and a large mirror. I used the right wall to create a separate dining space that connects to the kitchen, but is separate from the kitchen. There we have a beautiful black table and 4 dark grey chairs. There is also another built-in closet right before the kitchen, which I like to use to store my sheets, coats and AC units. Following, we head left to the kitchen. Yes, it is a separate kitchen with a beautiful window overlooking the street. It has a large fridge, a microwave, a large stove, and a ton of storage space. It is a good-sized kitchen for one person to cook in, gets a bit cramped with 2, but it is possible. If we go right from the living room, we end up in the bedroom. It is a great size for a NYC apartment. As you can see, there is a queen-size bed, 2 floating nightstands, a large closet, an additional clothing rack, and a vanity desk with a chair. The 2 windows make the room feel airy and bright. There are several plants around the apartment, all easy to maintain and no hassle. I am looking for someone to take my furniture together with my lease. It is a move-in-ready apartment. Price to be discussed.
Hot water and heat are included in the rent price. Average electricity bills are 50$ and gas 25$, WiFi you would need to get, this is a Spectrum building.
There is no washer/dryer in the building, but there is an amazing local laundromat around the corner (2 min walk). They offer drop off, dry cleaning, and have plenty of machines if you wanna do your washing.
It is situated in a quiet, family part of Elmhurst, Queens. 5-minute walk to the big Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue station that has access to E, F, 7, R, M trains, and all Queens buses (Q70 free LaGuardia shuttle, Q47, Q53). Easy commute to JFK and LaGuardia. Very convenient if you want to get to Brooklyn (Williamsburg, Greenpoint), or Manhattan (Midtown is only 20 min away), close to Astoria, Queens (couple stops on the R train), and the LIRR is accessible on the 69th and Woodside stop, which is 2 stops away on the 7 train. USPS is a 10-minute walk, UPS and FedEx are a 15-minute walk. There is a small shopping street with Old Navy, Sephora, Banana Republic, Duane Reade, Footlocker, and Target located about 15 min walk away. This is a great place for a foodie. Elmhurst is a well-known super-diverse area. There is a big asian community (lots of Thai restaurants), a big Latino community (lots of Colombian spots) and a big Indian community. Needless to say, the food scene is incredible, and I have been enjoying flavours from all over the world, never leaving my neighbourhood. There are several bakeries (Paris Baguette, Fay Da Bakery...), and coffee shops around that really reflect the spirit of the community here. Everything is within walking distance. Also, Queens Center Mall is located a couple of stops away on the M train.
Hello, I am Matea, the current tenant of this amazing apartment. This has been my first solo apartment in NYC, and I have absolutely LOVED living here. Between the aforementioned diverse food scene, access to Queens Mall and the shopping street, as well as a lot of small local grocery stores in the area, I've just been so lucky. I live on-site and will be showing the apartment. No, the broker is not showing the space. I am trying to find a person to take over my lease without the broker hassle and the fee. Please reach out to me via email to schedule a showing, and if you have any further questions.
Deposit necessary (1 month rent),
checks only (the landlord is old school),
The landlord will probably do a credit check,
Sign the lease agreement.
The landlord is a simple, reasonable, and reliable man; he doesn't live on the premises. I've never had any issues with him, and if I need anything, the super is on-site, and things get handled quickly.
Small pets are okay, large pets are not.
