One half block from Central Park. Seeking summer (partial or full) subletter, regular subletter or house swapper. I have a fun one bedroom apartment located one half block walk to Central park (much cooler than the city streets) with 14 foot ceilings (in the living room and bedroom), a red brick wall, a working wood burning fireplace and a small terrace with table and chairs overlooking a lush courtyard. It’s also a prewar apartment with all the regular NYC prewar apartment issues—truly ugly bathroom, tiny kitchen (which I have jerry rigged with a hand-made maple wood island, instant pot, Nespresso maker) etc. It’s on the second floor and there are not many stairs to climb. It's not a fancy place, but a fun, colorful and functional place for roaming, artistically inclined people (when I am here the living room/main room is a giant art studio). I pay $4200 a month plus utilities (welcome to NYC). I will leave you a closet and plenty of storage space. You can walk to the Hudson River in 20 minutes, there are restaurants along the water. I am looking for a subletter for July and/or August and or other dates over the year. (more photos are available),
Alternatively, I’d be interested in a house swap with a single person who lives somewhere shady or beachy and may want to occasionally swap houses (particularly this summer as the dog loathes NYC heat), or someone I can trust to sublet regularly or a few times per year. We (me and the dog) are very responsible, adaptable, considerate and pretty low maintenance and it would be good if you were too. I am a 52-year-old woman who writes for a living and makes ugly art for fun. The dog is a mellow 6 year old (large) lab mix who mostly sleeps when we are inside, isn’t a digger or barker and generally keeps to herself (although she has lots of dog friends). She doesn't shed much. I do have a car.
52 year old woman writer and maker of ugly mixed media art, mellow, somewhere between messy and clean. My apartment is regularly professionally cleaned. I love this apartment and the city, but work from home and enjoy roaming outside the city regularly.
