I'm looking for a house share with a single person or a couple who would like to be upstate part time. Given that I am down in the city every other weekend you may have the place to yourself quite a bit!
The house is a restored 1850s Greek Revival with 5 bedrooms and 2.5-baths on 50 acres. It's in an extremely peaceful setting at the crossroads of the Hudson Valley, Berkshires, and Litchfield County, just a couple of miles from the Harlem Valley Rail Trail and the towns of Millerton, Amenia, and Pine Plains. The Wassaic stop on Metro North is around 10 miles away down the rail trail, if you'd rather rely on public transit and two wheels to get here, but I'd recommend having a car on hand for local trips.
There are several bedrooms to choose from--all of them are furnished and come with large closets--but my expectation is that you will prefer the ground floor suite including a connected bedroom and newly renovated bathroom.
I have a small flock of ducks, a cat, and a corgi-terrier mix who visits with my boyfriend every few weeks.
I am a thirty-something gay environmentalist (and recovering lawyer) working for a nonprofit in the Hudson Valley. Weekends are often spent in the city, and I'm most comfortable with a situation where we overlap a fair amount but also each have the chance for some alone time in the house.
Obviously very LGBT friendly, but all are welcome!
1-month security deposit, references, and background check.
A (very) well-behaved dog will be considered.
