Furnished, turn-key, completely renovated, and solar-powered turn-of-the-century cottage for rent. The ground floor features a large, open living and dining room, a fully equipped kitchen with All-Clad cookware, a water filter, and all-new appliances (including a dishwasher, clothes washer & dryer), as well as a bathroom with heated floors, a bidet, and on-demand hot water.
Upstairs has cathedral ceilings, an office, a small gym, a queen-sized bed, a dresser, and a closet. Hardwood floors are featured throughout, complemented by matching trim and butcher-block countertops. Gas fireplace plus electric AC and heat. Washer & dryer.
Two parking spots. Small fenced yard with native plants and no-mow grass. Fully furnished, tastefully decorated with modern and period pieces. Linens, towels, pantry staples, and cleaning supplies are all included. The house has been in my family for 120 years, so I'm looking for a mindful tenant who appreciates thoughtful details.
Located in Lily Dale, a tiny, gated village in western NY known for being a Spiritualist community. There are trails all around (you can ski right out your door right after a storm), with a lake on one side and an old-growth forest on the other. During the winter, it is quiet, with about 70 residents. Come summer, it is transformed into a walkable town with a coffee house, hotels, workshops, speakers, and around 20k visitors. Nearby is Fredonia (12 min), Dunkirk (15 min), Jamestown (30 min), Buffalo (1hr), and Erie (1hr).
The house has been passed down through the women in my family for 120 years, but was empty for 20 years before I moved there from Brooklyn in 2018. I moved back to California last month. I'm hoping to find someone who loves it as much as I have!
Rent includes water, sewer, electricity (as long as it is below production by the solar) and high speed internet. Tenant is responsible for gas and trash. The cottage is located in Lily Dale, with a unique historical and cultural context that I can provide more information about if you're interested. Lease, application & deposit required with landlord plus application & non-refundable annual $500 fee to Lily Dale Assembly. This is a requirement of the HOA.
Minimum six-month lease, but I'm flexible. Utilities that are the renter's responsibilities are estimated as follows:
Trash: $22/mon
Gas: $60/mon
A trained dog or cat may be allowed with a deposit. The house has a dog/cat door and a fenced (but not secure) yard.
