I'm looking to sublet my room in Astoria. Move-in and move-out dates are flexible in both directions (potential move-in as early as June 25, potential move-out as late as September 3). Ideally I'm seeking someone who can commit to all of July and about half of August.
This is a 3-bedroom/1-bathroom on the 3rd floor of a small walk-up building. The room available faces the street, with lots of natural light coming in during the day and a decent amount of closet space. As it stands the room is furnished, but I'm happy to remove much of my furniture (save the bed) if you'd like.
The apartment was fully renovated immediately before I moved in, and it features new appliances including washer/dryer in-unit as well as a dishwasher. The kitchen is large for a New York apartment, and the shared living area is comfortable as well.
The apartment is centrally located on 31st Ave in Astoria, a short walk to the M/R station at 46th St which gets you into Manhattan in under 30 minutes. Easy access to the restaurants and bars along Broadway and 30th Ave. Our block is generally pretty quiet, and you'll see lots of families and kids as there are several schools located nearby. Key Food and CVS are both within walking distance, and street parking is very doable in our neighborhood if you own a car.
Rent is $300 per week and will be prorated to however long you choose to stay. Heat and water are included. Utilities (electricity and cooking gas) and internet are split between the tenants, and usually come out to around $50 per person per month.
I've been in this apartment for a year and a half and have had an excellent experience. I'll be out of town for much of the summer, hence my desire to sublet. There are two roommates you'll be living with, a man in his mid 20s and a woman in her early 30s. Both are very respectful, friendly, and quiet, and I'm looking for someone with those same qualities.
