August Sublet (Possible Extension)

I’m offering a furnished private room for sublet in a peaceful, sunlit 2BR apartment in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, available from August 1 to August 31, with the possibility to extend through October 8. Rent is $1500/month, and includes all utilities and internet.

The apartment is located in a quiet residential area, between the Myrtle-Broadway (J/M) and Utica Ave (A/C) subway stations. It’s on the second floor of a three-unit walk-up building with a stoop. Please note the space is not wheelchair accessible, and there is no elevator or on-site super.

The room is bright and comfortable, with a large window that looks out onto a backyard. It includes a bed set on a custom-built platform, and there’s closet space for storage. While the room does not have a desk, you are welcome to use the dedicated office space set up in the shared living room.

The apartment features a spacious and bright living area filled with plants, along with a projector setup for movie nights. The kitchen is simple and well-maintained, with generous counter space and a pantry. There is no dishwasher or in-unit laundry, but a laundromat is directly adjacent to the building, just two doors down. Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, and there is air conditioning in the living room (not in the bedrooms). The overall atmosphere is calm, clean, and welcoming.

You’ll be sharing the apartment with a creative, queer man in his 30s, who is a friend of my roommate. My roommate (an academic) and I (an artist) will both be away during the sublet period. We’re looking for someone who appreciates a quiet and respectful home environment and is comfortable maintaining cleanliness and a low-key rhythm. The space is LGBTQ+ friendly, and we kindly ask that guests refrain from hosting parties or loud gatherings.

The neighborhood is walkable, and full of amenities. You’ll find several grocery stores, cafés, and local shops nearby, and the area has a friendly, residential feel with easy access to the rest of Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Please reach out if you feel this could be a good fit — I’d be happy to provide more information.

About This Lister

I'm an artist from Spain in my late 30s. I spend most of my time in the studio and travel frequently for work and to visit family. I’m a late riser and a bit of a night owl, and I keep things quiet and low-key at home. I love cooking, biking around the city, and I’m very social — though I usually hang out outside the house. I'm queer, deeply LGBTQ+ friendly, and community-minded. I value clean, respectful, and calm living environments, and I place a high importance on clear, open communication with the people I live with.
