- I rent a 2.5 bedroom home in East Austin directly from my friend, the homeowner. I'm looking to rent out his room while he's away on sabbatical from his university job.
- Private bedroom with your own adjacent full bathroom
- It's a modest but updated home with standard amenities like A/C, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, full kitchen, etc.
- Big lush outdoor space (it's pretty overgrown right now but I'm getting it under control. We use the carport as a porch hang).
- Easy street parking out front
- Great East Austin neighborhood with above-average walkability to great spots like Patrizi's, Este, Civil Goat, Mi Madre, Fleet, etc.
- Easy bus-line access or bikeable to UT campus
About This Lister
Me:
- 34 year-old single gay man (and his sweet, 40 lb. dog, Eno) working remotely at a fairly demanding tech job -- I'm in my home office most days from about 8am - 5pm.
- House stays clean & quiet. I'm relatively new to Austin and do my socializing out at honky tonks where I country dance 4-5 nights/week.
Roommate fit:
- A graduate student or young professional, or someone new to Austin and searching for longer-term housing would be a good fit.
- Stays of at least one week will be considered at a slightly-higher-than-prorated rent amount (therefore, much cheaper than Airbnb, etc.)

- Someone with a full-time vocation (student, career, otherwise), who doesn't work at home 100% of the time (occasionally is fine).
- I work in my home office full-time, so not a fit for both of us, but you are welcome to use my office in evening hours for the dual monitor and desk setup, etc.
Pricing:
- $1380/month includes utilities (energy, wifi, etc. - which works out to about a $100 monthly credit)
- I will consider shorter stays, perhaps as short as 1 week; I have flexibility on when/duration for renting the room, so if you have a particular date range or situation in mind please feel free to reach out and we can discuss.
