We are looking for a proactive gallery assistant to work on site at our Saugerties-based art gallery.
You will start with working on August 5th with one of the team members who will help on board you. Eventually you can pick up a full shift by yourself.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with physical setup of exhibition space as needed
- Create and distribute PDF previews of artwork with pricing information
- Write and proofread exhibition materials (artist statements, artwork descriptions, price lists)
- Work physically in the gallery and be able to answer questions and take down clients information as needed
-Check out any sales of gallery merch or artwork
- Maintain a professional and friendly presence in the gallery and be able to be proactive in assisting gallery directors
- Be able to take video and photo footage and create social media content
Our hours: 11am-6pm Fridays through Sundays (you will be required to work at least one full day a week with part time hours on the two other days.)
About you:
-Preferred Bachelor Degree (arts degree not necessary but you must have an interest in the arts)
-Pass background check
-Ability to communicate proficiently in writing
-Be thorough in publishing any communication materials, press release, social media content
-Have access to a car and can travel to work easily to our Saugerties gallery
-Have an interest in the art industry and able to learn about our artists and art programming
-Be kind and have a desire to support the arts in the region

We are a small gallery located in Saugerties, NY and looking for a gallery assistant who can work physically in the gallery.
Our hours: 11am-6pm Fridays through Sundays (you will be required to work at least one full day a week with part time hours on the two other days.)
We occasionally host free music events from 6pm to 9pm either Friday or Saturday. You can choose to work those extra hours or not.
Our mission is to bring contemporary art to Saugerties and the Catskills area and to promote community in the region through art and music.
