This gorgeous plant filled condo is located on 4th Ave in Brooklyn where Gowanus meets Park Slope. It's a bright and airy one-bedroom apartment on the third floor of a ten floor elevator building.
I'll be out of town for work and I'm looking for a mature, responsible, clean individual or couple to sublet my space for approximately one month: 9/1/25 - 10/5/25. (I will also be looking for a subletter 10/13/25 - 11/17/25.) Apologies, no pets allowed, and not equipped for children.
About my apt: approx. 700 sq ft, fully furnished, central AC, hardwood floors, high ceilings, queen-sized bed with brand new Leesa mattress, soaking tub/shower, brand new Interior Define sectional, Samsung frame television, brand new espresso machine, Bosch appliances (fridge, dishwasher, in-unit washer and dryer), automatic blinds, Verizon Fios internet. Building has 3rd floor large outdoor common area with a covered tables and chairs and couches, gym, bike storage, secured mail room, and trash shoots and recycling on every floor. (Note that I'm currently in the midst of toning down the green on my kitchen cabinets -- I painted them before the couch arrived! I'll be done before the sublet begins.)
This space is my sanctuary and I keep it very clean and tidy. I know my neighbors and we are very respectful about noise, etc. I'm looking for someone who can water and care for my plants while staying for a $100 discount off the total cost.
The apartment is located on bustling 4th Ave, steps away from restaurants and cafes, and one avenue over from 5th Avenue and the heart of Park Slope. Very walkable: lots of coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, bars, and grocery stores. A two minute walk to the Prospect Ave R train, and a six minute walk to the 4th Ave 9th St F/G train. A 35 minute train ride to Times Square. A 15 minute walk to Prospect Park.
There are fobs and codes to open the doors or you can manually use a key. Full transparency: there's been some talk of a scaffolding sidewalk bridge being erected in front of the building to take care of some leaks on the backside of the building, but the timeline has yet to be finalized. I don't foresee noise being an issues, but the view from the floor to ceiling windows could possibly be obscured.
Total cost for stay is $4200 (minus $100 if you're willing to care for plants) Cost breakdown: Monthly rent ($4000) + Utilities: $200 a month ($50 Verizon; average Con Ed $150).
A $1000 deposit sent via venmo or zelle once a sublet agreement is signed. It will be returned to you (pending any damage) 48 hours after sublet has ended.
I'm a 45 year old female theater director with a passion for design, cooking, books and plants. I just bought this condo (first time home owner!) and have worked hard to make the space cozy, warm, comfortable and utterly my own.
Signed lease agreement, $1000 refundable deposit, 2 references, in person or zoom meeting.
