We have a bedroom opening up in our lovely, community-oriented apartment in Greenpoint!
Bedroom:
The bedroom is large, approx. 14x10x10, and currently fits a queen bed, desk / keyboard & chair, medium-sized dresser, and some shelf / floor units of varying sizes. It also includes a large closet with double sliding doors.
The room gets a ton of natural light throughout the day, looking out onto a beautiful tree-lined street. It's are sunny and warm in winter and, thanks to the ceiling fan and big window, cool in summer. The room will come unfurnished.
Apartment:
Our 4BD/2BA apartment was completely renovated before we moved in, including large kitchen with stainless steel appliances (hello dishwasher), generously sized common spaces, a spacious main bathroom, hardwood floors throughout, and an enormous private deck.
Location:
The apartment is right between the Nassau and Greenpoint G subway stops in historic Greenpoint. You know that beautiful block with all the brick houses on a quiet, tree-lined street? That could be you! There are a ton of bars, restaurants, boutiques, banks, parks and grocery stores within walking distance. We love our laundromat across the street, our local dive bar, and our bodega, God Bless Deli, home of the best $5 falafel in the city.
Transportation:
You can take the G two stops north to Court Square and transfer to the M,E, or 7 trains to get into Manhattan. Or take it one stop south to transfer to the L train at Lorimer / Metropolitan. Alternatively, its a pleasant walk to the Bedford L - it's is less than a mile and takes about 15 minutes. There is also the B43 and B62 bus lines, which go up into Queens and down into Brooklyn. There are lots of CitiBike stations as well. Luckily, its quite easy to get around.
This is by far the nicest place any of us have been in. We are excited to welcome someone new into it and hope to make it even better together.
About us:
You will be sharing the apartment with delightful humans in their 30s who have worked to build a space in NYC that truly feels like home. We are creative, progressive, and varying levels of physically active. Two of us are in film and the third is in tech. We all work 40+ hours/week, often more for the freelancers, and travel often.
Over the years, we've had housemates from India, Norway, Peru, Mexico, as well as an over-representation of the the greater Philadelphia area. Internationals encouraged to say hello!
We have a comfortable dynamic that balances work, social lives and "me time". We try to have 'family dinners' every few months and are generally good at sensing when someone is feeling social or wants some space. We're a respectful, communicative and empathetic bunch who can't wait to invite a new person into the community.
About you:
You would be moving in October 1st and willing to be on the lease. We are looking for someone interested in staying for at least one year. First month's rent and security deposit to move in. Our landlord is responsive and has fixed the rare issue we have had quite promptly.
We do have a rotating cleaning schedule for our common spaces and are looking for someone who would be willing to work with us to keep the space clean.
If you are a considerate, mature person who is looking for more just a room to rent and want a space that truly feels like home, we'd love to hear from you!
Good luck out there :)
