The Role
We are looking for a Head of Finance (Bookkeeping Lead) to own the integrity of our clients’ financials while helping build scalable systems across the firm.
This is a player-coach role—you will execute core accounting work while also managing workflows, reviewing team output, and supporting higher-level financial strategy.
You’ll work directly with leadership and clients, acting as the bridge between financial data and real operational decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Own monthly close across multiple clients
- Maintain accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
- Perform bank, credit card, and POS reconciliations
- Manage journal entries and general ledger activity
Payroll & Compliance
- Oversee payroll (QuickBooks Payroll, ADP, Paylocity)
- Ensure payroll tax compliance and filings
- Support sales tax tracking and filings
Systems & Process
- Build and refine scalable bookkeeping systems
- Improve reporting timelines and consistency
- Manage POS and financial integrations
Team Oversight
- Review and manage junior team members
- Train staff and enforce quality control
Client Support
- Interface directly with clients
- Prepare clean financials for CFO-level analysis
- Assist with prime cost, labor, and margin insights
Who You Are
- Detail-oriented but able to think at a systems level
- Comfortable owning both execution and oversight
- Strong communicator with clients and internal teams
- Process-driven and highly organized
- Able to manage multiple accounts simultaneously
Qualifications
- 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Strong QuickBooks proficiency
- Hospitality experience strongly preferred
- Experience with payroll platforms (ADP, Paylocity, etc.)
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets
- Prior team oversight experience is a plus
Compensation
- Base Salary: $95,000+ (commensurate with experience)
- Performance-based bonus tied to client retention, accuracy, and delivery timelines
- Clear path to senior finance leadership within the firm
