The cottage sits on a 7.5-acre hilltop in Ghent with westward views of the Catskill Mountains. Renovated and furnished by local designer, the Cottage is designed as a place for relaxation, contemplation, and solitude. It’s the perfect location to spend a couple weeks (or a month!) in deep focus on your creative project. Please note this is intended for a single person and is not a short-term vacation rental.

The Cottage is located just 15 minutes from Chatham, 20 minutes from Hudson and Kinderhook, 30 minutes from Catskill and Great Barrington (MA), and a short drive from several conservation areas offering picturesque walking & hiking trails managed by the Columbia Land Conservancy.

Please note that the owner and his family live on an adjacent property that’s a short walk to/from the Cottage and the two houses share part of a driveway. We ask that you do not wander off the 7.5-acre parcel associated with the cottage. The owner will provide you with complete privacy during your stay but is available for any house questions or local recommendations.

Hello. I'm an entrepreneur splitting my time between homes in historic, vibrant South Harlem (NYC) and the charming, rural community of Ghent (Columbia County). I enjoy travel, literature, art, and documentary films.

I purchased this house in early 2021 and fully renovated the space with a local interior designer. The design is clean, modern and minimal (Scandinavian inspired). The house has abundant natural light and plenty of windows with both pastoral and mountain views. The surrounding area is peaceful and very quiet.
