This spacious, furnished 3-bedroom, 2-bath apartment has a large kitchen, separate dining room, and plenty of room to settle in comfortably. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, air fryer, and dishwasher.

The apartment is in a medium-rise elevator building with a live-in super. There are two laundry rooms in the building and a large, beautiful courtyard with seating and tables—great for relaxing, working outside, or enjoying a meal.

Our home is located in vibrant and welcoming Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn. We’re just a short walk from Prospect Park, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and Brooklyn Museum, so there’s a great mix of green space, culture, and city life nearby.

Getting around is easy—we’re about a 2.5 block walk to the Q and 2 subway lines, with Manhattan roughly a 20-minute train ride away.

Right outside the door you’ll find supermarkets, grocery stores, and a wide range of restaurants, cafés, and bars. It’s a lively neighborhood that’s easy to feel at home in, with a strong sense of community.

No smoking, no pets, and the building has a family-friendly environment.

About This Lister

My husband and I are long-time New York City public school teachers who have been approved for a study sabbatical. We’re excited to take this opportunity to spend a semester living abroad with our daughters, and we’re looking for someone who would enjoy making our home their base in New York City during that time.

We care a lot about our home and our neighborhood, and we’re hoping to find a great match—someone who will feel comfortable here and treat the space with the same care and respect. Our apartment works well for a family, a couple, or an individual who is coming to NYC for a semester, research stay, visiting position, or other temporary opportunity.

Ideally, we’re looking for a stay of about 4–5 months during the fall semester, though there is some flexibility with the exact timing, especially toward the end of the stay. We’re happy to communicate and coordinate to make the arrangement work smoothly.

We love living here: being close to the park, cultural institutions, and a lively neighborhood with everything nearby makes day-to-day life easy and enjoyable. We hope to find someone who will appreciate the same things while they’re in the city.

If you think our home might be a good fit for you, we’d be glad to connect and learn a bit about you and your plans while in New York.

Rental requirements

This is a short-term (3-6 month) sublet. The monthly rate is $5,000.00 and includes all utilities and high-speed Wi-Fi.

If you're interested in the sublet, I’ll ask for a few standard details so we can make sure it’s a good fit for both of us:

A quick introduction about yourself and what brings you to the area
Full name and contact information
A copy of a government-issued ID
Proof of income
One reference (previous landlord, employer, or professional contact)

Selected applicants will be asked to complete a short application and sign a simple sublease agreement confirming the dates, rent, and house guidelines.

Before move-in, I’ll ask for the first month’s rent and a security deposit. Since the apartment is furnished, we’ll also review a basic inventory list together at move-in.

Happy to answer any questions!
