I am looking for a room, ideally in a shared apartment or house, anywhere in NY, with a preference for Brooklyn or Manhattan.

I am working at NYU so easy access to Manhattan is necessary, but I'm happy to commute.

I am currently renting in Crown Heights and I am currently hoping to spend in the region of what I am spending here, which is 1300$ p/month, but I am definitely negotiable on this.

I arrived to New York in January to do a four month research visit at NYU, supported by a Fulbright scholarship. I am an Irish phd researcher, currently living in Florence Italy, where I am researching digital platforms and online content moderation from a legal philosophy standpoint.

I'm a tidy, quiet, good natured, and communicative housemate. I am 35, so I have plenty of experience living in shared accomodation with all kinds of people. In other words, I clean up as I cook my dinner in the evening ;)

I am hard working, into the gym at the moment, I love reading and writing, and I don't drink or smoke. I'm an early riser usually, and relatively early to bed, and I will be at NYU most weekdays.

As a former practicing artist, I like people who are curious, eccentric, and intellectually and creatively open, and I also like houses which have a bit of character. I would be delighted to hear of any rentals that might be appropriate!
