My roommate of eight years has moved upstate. I am looking for someone to rent her room! I live in a two bedroom apartment. One bedroom is in the front of the house and the other is at the back. There is a shared kitchen and bathroom and living room. It is a gorgeous brick building built in 1930 and includes a wooden lobby and a grand staircase.
It is a walk up with no elevator. The apartment is on the attic level of the building (equivalent of the third floor). It features many skylights including a large atrium. Because of the four skylights there is a ton of natural light. The building features a shared backyard that is full of carefully cultivated plants and trees and a garden. The backyard also features shared furniture.
The bedroom for rent is at the back of the house and therefore there is no street noise. It is the bigger of the two bedrooms and has a walk-in closet, two windows overlooking the backyard, and plenty of space. There are also many plants in the apt.
The apartment features a kitchen that includes a dishwasher and plenty of cupboards and storage space. The bathroom has a shower but no bathtub. There is a shared living room with a skylight and lots of seating space on a large coach and chair. The apartment also features a small crawlspace that is clean and big enough to store items and furniture.
The apartment is fully furnished aside from the bedroom that is currently up for rent. I keep the apartment clean but I am not bothered when things are a little messy.
I am a teacher and leave for work early most weekday mornings and usually return in the early evening. Sometimes I babysit and work late on weeknights or weekends.
When I'm home, I enjoy spending time in the common areas as well as having quiet time in my bedroom. I enjoy having company over for chill hangouts such as watching a movie or having dinner.
The neighborhood is full of rows of historic mansions. Well maintained gardens line the blocks. It is walking distance from Fort Greene Park, BAM theaters, The Barclay's Center and numerous other small parks and outdoor spaces. It is also close to Prospect Park, The Brooklyn Museum, The Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Dekalb Market/Alamo Drafthouse. There is a farmer's market at Fort Greene Park and Grand Army Plaza every weekend. The neighborhood has many restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, etc.
The apartment building is one block away from the Clinton Avenue G train and two blocks away from the Clinton Avenue C train. It is a 14 minute walk to Atlantic Terminal featuring the 2,3,4,5,B,D,N,Q, R and LIRR trains.

*Some of these photos feature furniture no longer in the apartment. I will try to add update photos soon. But all photos accurately show the apartment space.
