Neighborhood

Astoria, Queens

Transportation

N/W Train - 6 minute walk. NYC Ferry - 20 minute walk.

Size

900 sq. ft.

Large, beautiful and warm 4th floor furnished Astoria apartment in a 6-floor, elevator, pre-war co-op building – often considered the best kept building in this great neighborhood. Price includes all utilities and internet.

Hardwood floors, updated appliances. Shower and separate bathtub. Even a piano. Generous closet space throughout.

Bedroom overlooks quiet interior courtyard and not the street. First floor laundry room, protected package delivery room, attentive building staff.

Centrally located in the heart of vibrant Astoria between the Broadway and 30th Ave stops on the N/W lines. Just 0.3 miles/6-minute walk to Broadway station. 20 minute walk west to NYC Ferry. Multiple groceries, shops and great restaurants are just a block away in either direction.

Apartment has 2 bedrooms but I'm retaining one for some of my belongings and rare visits. I will visit less than 2 weeks total a year with ample notice and that timing can be negotiated around your schedule. Essentially this is a roommate situation but with an absent roommate, so you'll have the apartment to yourself.

No pets. No smoking. Responsible/attentive/reasonably quiet adult wanted that will keep the apartment clean and respect neighbors, building and staff.

About This Lister

I’m a semi-retired filmmaker that has resettled full-time in Massachusetts, looking to rent out my co-op to a roommate - retaining one of the two bedrooms for my belongings and extremely rare/short visits.

The apartment is furnished but we can rearrange or remove some items if you want. The rental bedroom is empty and you'll need to bring your own bed.

There are several groceries, hardware and other stores a block away on Broadway and 30th Ave. The whole area is full of an eclectic mix of great restaurants offering food from around the world. A short walk to the waterfront, Socrates Sculpture Park, Noguchi Museum and Museum of the Moving Image, Costco and the NYC Ferry Astoria stop.

I’m looking for someone who is a clean, reasonably quiet, responsible adult who respects the apartment, the building’s other tenants and openly communicates any issues that need addressing. I want to keep the apartment in great shape and will address and pay for repairs. Major appliances are either new or recent but I will pay to replace or repair if they break down.

There’s a piano in the living room – though it needs tuning (I will not cover that cost).

I am the contact person and will be in NYC 3/1/26 - 3/7/26 to show the space. Could also arrange an earlier time in February with my present roommate for you to see it. Can also share her contacts if you want to speak about her experience with the space and with me.
