Hey there! I’m moving to Brooklyn to live with some friends and am subletting my bedroom in my furnished, two-bedroom East Village apartment for Nov 1 - April 30, with the possibility to then take over the lease (we can chat about that!). I'm looking for a kind, responsible, and communicative person to take over my room.
About the apartment:
It’s a third-floor walk-up on the southwest corner of 11th St and Avenue B — a bright, corner unit in a clean, well-kept building. Every room gets great natural light, and the living room is furnished with a couch, armchair, rug, bookshelf, etc. The tiled kitchen is off to the side with a round glass table, chairs, fridge, oven/stove, microwave, and all the kitchenware you'll need.
About the room:
It’s my bedroom you'd be subletting — a beautiful, sunny space with three windows that face 11th Street and Avenue B. I may take some of the furniture with me depending on what you'd need/not need, but I have a full-sized bed, a great desk, a dresser, LOTS of closet space, an A/C unit, etc. The natural light and view from the room are truly special.
The neighborhood:
I've absolutely loved living here. Our block is part of the Open Streets program (limited car traffic during the day), so it’s active but not overwhelming. Tompkins Square Park is a block away, and there are tons of great restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops on every corner. For groceries, Trader Joe’s, Target, and Whole Foods are all nearby, and there’s a great laundromat with wash-and-fold service just downstairs. The L train is a short walk away and gets you to Union Square in just a few stops. I'm moving to live with friends and to save money as I pursue a full-time music career, but I'll be very sad to be leaving this place.
Roommate info:
You’d be living with my roommate, Oliver, who recently got his graduate degree from the London School of Economics and now works for a startup. He's super kind, respectful, and easy to live with. We keep the common areas clean and chill.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, sunny spot in one of the best neighborhoods in the city, feel free to reach out — I’d be happy to chat and share more details!
Hi! I'm a singer-songwriter and producer originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago. I graduated from Cornell in 2017 with a degree in history, and I've been living in NYC for the past six years — most of that time in the East Village. I also teach piano, songwriting, and production at a school on the Upper East Side. Looking forward to connecting and chatting more!
Your monthly rent would be $2300, plus utilities (internet, gas, electric), which are usually around $90/month per person but may vary depending on the month and A/C usage, etc.
Security deposit is $2300, which you'd get back when your sublet ends.
