Large room in Crown Heights townhouse
Hi! We’re looking for two long-term roommates to join our townhouse apartment.
ABOUT THE PLACE:
Steps from the 4 express to Manhattan in a nice duplex apartment – with washer and dryer in unit.
Yours is one of two nice spacious downstairs bedrooms – both 8’x13’ with a large closet. Bathroom and street entry shared with only one roommate (two more upstairs).
There are also a couple common areas in our duplex unit:
- downstairs den, open space, and TV room
- upstairs kitchen + living room
- front patio
- backyard hammock, garden, grill
- washer/dryer
The neighborhood has CitiBikes around the corner, a community garden on our block, a Wednesday farmers’ market, great eats on Utica Ave, and half a block away, Lincoln Terrace Park with hills, forests, and sports fields.
ABOUT US:
- Matthew and David (posters, couple): Matthew is an English adjunct and working musician; David drives a bus for the MTA and stans Beyoncé. We spend a lot time as a duo but it’s also nice to have the occasional group dinner or get-together as a house.
- Your future downstairs neighbor
- Fin (a cat)
Heads up, Matthew teaches fiddle lessons upstairs, so there is a bit of music through the week – but it’s not loud downstairs.
ABOUT YOU:
We are looking for someone who is:
- kind and cheerful
- helpful in maintaining a clean, kind, and uplifting space
SPECIFICS:
Available 6/1. Utilities average $90; can provide air conditioner; includes washer/dryer. Not 420-friendly, sorry! No pets, sorry! Could consider a couple for an additional rate. We are looking to connect with someone interested in living here at least a year, so if you’re looking for a short-term stay, best to ask elsewhere. Please send a bit of info about yourself in your first message and we’ll take it from there!
- Matthew and David (33 and 31): we're both very busy in this phase of our lives. David drives an MTA bus and Matthew teaches and performs Irish music and teaches English at Baruch College. We spend most of our time off together when we can.
- your downstairs neighbor Alma (mid 20s) works as a ABA therapist. She’s a friendly and fun person, but also on the quiet side to live with.
- Kubwa and Watson are two tabby cats who are friendly and fun but do make some smelly litter box poops (mostly downstairs tbh) which we try to stay on top of.
