About this Service

Why This Service Matters

This is the quiet stretch of the running year. The mornings are dark. The trails are frozen, roads are icy, and motivation wavers. Workouts feel scattered. It’s easy to drift — or to wonder what you should even be building right now.

But this is also where summer and fall races quietly take shape.

With a clear, individualized plan, late winter becomes an advantage. You build aerobic depth, durable strength, and steady momentum — so when spring arrives, you’re ready rather than scrambling for fitness.

I offer a values-driven, science-backed coaching structure designed to solve your training challenges and guide you toward your goals:

• Personalized Training Plan: Tailored to your lifestyle, experience, and ambitions — because running should fit your life, not the other way around.

• Injury Prevention & Strength: Proactive strategies to keep you running strong, healthy, and consistently progressing.

• Real Accountability & Communication: Support and honest feedback so you’re never left guessing, always guided.

• Evolving Progression: Your plan adapts as you grow, ensuring lasting results and continued motivation.

About this Lister

I grew up in Michigan and, as a kid, I always raced the mile. Running has been part of my life ever since. After earning my MFA, I moved to New York City and spent 25 years as a professor of art — later returning to school for an MS in Exercise Physiology to combine my love of running with science.

I run everything from 5Ks to ultramarathons, including a 200-mile run across Tajikistan in 2025. These adventures feed my curiosity, and they are the backbone of the art I make. I live in northern New Mexico, where I built a printmaking studio, and I often travel for races and artmaking, living 3–4 months at a time in different places around the country with my two dogs and a turtle. I started coaching runners because I love helping people discover what they’re capable of — building strength, confidence, and joy in the process. For my 60th birthday, I ran 60 miles, and by the end of the year, my birthday party was a 100-mile race, where I placed 11th out of 200 women.

Background and Expertise

I hold an MS in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition from Long Island University, with research on postmenopausal exercise, endurance nutrition, and plyometric training for master's runners.

Certifications include NASM Corrective Exercise & Performance Enhancement, USATF Coaching, Original Strength, and Russian Kettlebell (RKC). I’m also a certified Emergency First Responder and volunteer firefighter/EMR.

With 45+ years of competitive running at sea level and altitude, I’ve earned numerous wins and top-10 finishes. I coach runners of all levels — from first-time 5 K runners to 100-mile ultra runners — with programs tailored to your goals, body, and life.

My philosophy blends smart training, recovery, and long-term development. I focus on building strength, endurance, and confidence while keeping runners healthy, motivated, and enjoying the journey.
