Truly unique duplex studio with three separate entrances, new kitchen appliances, large open space on top floor; sleeping alcove, bathroom/shower, AND sunlit bonus room (could be a studio or another bedroom) on bottom floor.
This apartment is a private "cottage" in the rear of my house. It is equipped with cooking and dining equipment and bathroom basics. It is sparsely furnished with a queen bed with a good mattress, and a few pieces (tables, dressers) that you can use if you wish. Or, if you prefer, I'll remove all the furniture.
With your portable sleeping units (airbed, crib, etc.), this space can comfortably accomodate up to 5 people traveling together.
You have access to outdoor space and greenery, and can garden. During the season you're here, roses will bloom right outside your door. , A wide variety of birds like to fly through and perch on the property's trees; Staten Island's famous wild turkeys sometimes amble by; and foxes and raccoons are known to make appearances.
Rent is all-inclusive: heat, hot water, electric, window AC (though there's good cross breeze and you may not needit), Wi-Fi, cable, and driveway parking.
Laundry: for a small fee, you can use the washer/dryer in my house, or there are plenty of laundromats in walking distance.
This space is available for 6 weeks, and it is not negotiable to extend. So it's great for someone looking for an NYC retreat, or space to work on an artistic project, or a transition between living situations.
Stapleton Heights is a beautiful, diverse, historic neighborhood that really feels like a neighborhood. It's a 20-minute pleasant walk to the Staten Island ferry, or a quicker bus ride. Close to shopping, food, and culture. Two off-the-beaten-path MIchelin-starred restaurants are in walking distance-- Shaw-Nae's House, and Lakruwana. Check out Time Out New York's highlights:

Looking forward to meeting you!
I'm the homeowner and live on the property. I'm a small business owner mom (pronouns she/her) with two teenage kids and a cat, active in multiracial social justice work personally and professionally. I love people and gathering and am excited to show you around the community if you're not already familiar; I'm also an introvert, so I value boundaries and privacy.
