Position:
Looking for a caring, enthusiastic, compassionate Live-in Caregiver for an older adult woman with Autism. Client is in her 60’s and lives in her late mother’s apartment on the Upper East Side. Client has a very soft and friendly demeanor. Client likes meeting new people and enjoys socializing. The client’s hobbies include making art, playing basketball, reading, board games, and learning new skills. The client is interested in museums, going for walks, eating at restaurants, cooking, and being around people. The client moves at a slower pace and might be overwhelmed by too many plans in one day. The client is looking for support with some activities of daily living and independent life skills. Client has some extended family close by and is looking to connect with new friends.
Responsibilities include:
Support client in waking up and going through her morning routine
Support bedtime routines
Live at the apartment
Additional tasks at home, to be determined
Requirements:
Experience working with adults, preferably with and ASD or I/DD
Excellent time management and communication skills
Creative nature in identifying enjoyable and enriching ways to spend the day
Patient, positive and friendly disposition
Compensation: Room and Board (est. $3,000 value) + Weekly Stipend ($800+)
