Sun-Filled, Fully Furnished 1.5BR in Clinton Hill | Doorman Building | Summer Sublet (Flexible Dates) | Mid-May through late August (some flexibility)

I’m an academic heading out of town for research this summer and looking for a thoughtful subletter (or couple) to enjoy my home while I’m away.

The apartment is a large, light-filled 1.5 bedroom on the third floor of a renovated prewar elevator building with a 24-hour doorman. It faces a quiet, tree-lined block of historic brownstones and stays peaceful throughout the day.

The space is both comfortable and carefully put together: a generous bedroom with a queen bed, a separate dining/work area that functions easily as an office or guest room, and a living space that gets beautiful natural light. The bathroom has marble floors and a deep soaking tub.

The kitchen is fully equipped (dishwasher, stainless appliances) and stocked with everything you’d need to cook—coffee, tea, spices, and good tools. The apartment includes fast WiFi, central heating with temperature control, and access to a laundry room in the building.

Much of the furniture and décor has been made by friends over collected over the better part of two decades: a handmade burl dining table and onyx desk by local architects, vintage leather-and-chrome chairs from Italy, antique rugs and pottery from Georgia, and a bookcase I designed and built myself. It’s a home that’s meant to be lived in, not merely passed through.

Location-wise, you’re one block from the A/C/G trains (about 15 minutes to Manhattan), a short walk to Fort Greene Park and the Saturday farmers market, and surrounded by some of the best restaurants, bars, bakeries, and 24-hour groceries in New York.
