🌞 Sublet my gorgeous one-bedroom on the top floor of a 6-floor elevator building with a bedroom view of the Verrazano Bridge. Retreat from New York noise in a quiet, slow-paced family neighborhood, while still remaining in close proximity to the city's bustle when you crave it.
🌞 On entry, everyone who visits gasps at how spacious this place is. The living room provides ample space for entertaining, working, and lounging, while the fully-equipped kitchen has lots of space to cook, and a bar to eat and hang out
🌞 Take long baths in Brooklyn’s deepest bathtub
🌞 Bask in nearby nature: you’re 9 minutes away from walks by the river (supreme sunsets!) & waterside parks, some of the sparkliest views of the Manhattan skyline, and 15 minutes to the South Brooklyn ferry terminal (where you can catch an express ferry to Pier 11/Manhattan) and Owl's Head Park
🌞 Bay Ridge is a neighbourhood unlike any other in NYC: you still get old-school diners and Italian mom & pop spots where the servers with South Brooklyn accents call you "sweetie," and you also have Brooklyn’s superior Yemen Cafe, the excellent newly opened Yemenat, and the best Palestinian food in the tristate area at Ayat, Maqluba, and Nablus sweets
🌞 8 minutes to the R train gets you to Manhattan & central Brooklyn within an hour (the distance makes you more deliberate, which makes this a perfect place to focus on a creative project or to get some deep rest&reflection) and friends love to visit for a neighborhood tour (I'm happy to share all my reccs with you!)
🌞 If you're visiting NYC, here is a place where you can catch your breath and hear your thoughts, rise with the sun and sleep with the moon (and the Verrazano!), and try Bay Ridge on for size.
🌞Available immediately & through the end of May — rent is $1950 for the full month of May, and prorated for however many days in April you stay
🌞 Washer/Dryer in building basement (I will include a welcome guide with details)
🌞 Utilities (WiFi, power, gas): $150/May & prorated for April
This special spot has been my home for the entire five years I've lived in New York. I'm an Egyptian writer, writing coach, currently training as a psychoanalyst; I love to cook and dance, and in the summer I organize my life around daily Rockaway Beach trips via ferry. I've poured a lot of love and care into making this space my home and I trust you'll care for it, too. My neighbors have become friends and we keep our surroundings noise- and party-free.
Please share with me a bit about yourself, if you've spent any time in Bay Ridge, and share any questions about the apartment or the neighborhood. Happy spring! 🌞
