Seeking a gentle, proactive assistant (2-3 days/week, flexible start ~10/11am-1/2pm, no more than 3hrs/session) for brain dysfunction/disability support in Williamsburg,—from a TBI that prevents this creative from working.
Vital: Gentle handling required—my CNS is shot from the past few years of healing. I can work in 30-minute spurts only; need help to enforce rest breaks between. It’s harder than
it sounds once I get going.
The brain is unreliable and shifts from lightning-fast (keep up in clear zones) to super slow (adapt patiently), day and cognitive load dependent. Some days I’m only really online enough to sit and watch simple TV, like a sick 3 year old, so I need someone self motivated to work for us both…. Other days my brain return to v 1.0 and ideas and solutions flood out me but I don’t have recall so need someone able to keep up with the hyper fast processing and make it all actionable.
Please kindly only apply if truly very interested to work with someone like this. I can’t handle unqualified overload. Thank you. 🙏🏻
Key Responsibilities:
• Space Organizing: Declutter/optimize layouts (low-stimulation zones, easy-access systems); patiently explain why each change suits my cognitive challenges.
• Project Planning: Break down time-sensitive real estate investment tasks (research, timelines, next steps) into simple steps; help us fly through it Elenette-style (fast but sensitive).
• Handyperson Tasks: Full guidance/extra hands for anything over 3 steps (minor fixes, carrying, assembly).
Bonus for me:
• Cooking Support or Lead (even better): Assist with plant-based, healthy batch cooking for efficient meal prep which most days is above my pay grade.
Empathetic, intuitive, reliable, physically capable, with neurodiversity/disability support experience. Trial: 1 week, fully paid. Potential for long-term, even full time collaboration in a couple months once I regain some resiliency. $25-35/hr, cash/Venmo. Starts ASAP.
To Apply: Brief, mindful email only, subject “Mindful Organizer”. Explain why you’re perfect (specific experience) + availability. Transparency is key as well as communication. Thank you, truly, for even considering this posting. You’ll be my unicorn if you exist!
I’m a photographer recovering from a traumatic brain injury, neurological Lyme and long Covid and need help with almost everything on bad cog days. On good days I’m fast moving. But it’s variable and I can’t predict it.
