Beautiful 1 bedroom elevator apartment in a low rise luxury condo right beside the Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park. Fantastic modern building tucked away in historic brownstone filled streets. The apartment boasts some of the best finishes I have seen in modern luxury condos in New York with stunning natural oak herringbone floors (what drew my eye to this place in the first place), a top of the line chef's kitchen with a full set of Miele appliances, real Carrera marble in the kitchen/bathroom, and not to mention a proper full size laundry machine in unit.
The space features a well outfitted kitchen, spacious living room with an expandable dining table that can be set up as a second workspace. Comfortable sofa with a set of speakers and tv to relax around. Finally there is a small balcony with a table and chair for some meals outside when the weather is nice. Beyond the living space, a large but quaint bedroom with a queen size bed, dedicated workspace with two monitors, sit/stand desk and ergonomic chair for the long work from home days.
The apartment borders Prospect Heights and Crown Heights and is only a 8 minute walk to Prospect Park (2 mins on bike, 5 mins jogging for the runners and cyclists out there!). With the 2/3 less than a 3 minute walk away and the 4/5 a 7 minute walk, the train is always extremely convenient and can take you straight into the city.
This neighborhood is the perfect intersection of quaint, quiet, vibrant and convenient. I do most of my produce shopping at the Grand Army Plaza farmers market on Saturdays, and find most of my meats and fish from the butcher and fish monger on Vanderbilt, both of which are just a 10 minute walk away. Lots of great restaurant options up and down Vanderbilt, Washington, and Franklin ave.
This is truly one of the most beautiful apartments that balances the intimate feeling of living in Brooklyn without having to sacrifice on modern amenities. I have lived here for almost 3 years and still in love with this apartment's unique layout and charming features. Extremely quiet building filled predominately with young families who own their respective units.
This apartment would be great for someone who loves to cook and sometime works from home. Also great for couples with enough space for two people to work at home simultaneously.
I will clear out a closet that is large enough for two people in the bedroom and provide fresh bedding, sheets and towels. Just bring your suitcases.
Central heating and cooling A/C, private gas powered water tank for hot water, 1Gbps fiber optic internet. Price includes all utilities, except electricity - I will cover up to $120 of the electricity bill (my standard monthly bill). Due to the summers and central cooling systems, there is possibility of high fluctuations of electricity cost if the AC is left on all the time. Will leave it up to your preference and comfort.
Note - $2200 reflects the price for the FULL duration of the sublet (8/1-8/20). Due to the circumstances of this sublet, the price reflected is already much lower than my rent + cost of utilities. I am hoping to find someone who can care for this space while I am away from New York.
I formerly was an Architectural designer (hence the love for the finishings and vintage chairs!) who recently pivoted to technology working in a strategy role.
I am originally from Vancouver, Canada, but have spent the past 10 years around the east coast of both Canada and the US. Unfortunately, my work visa is currently processing and this has caused me to be unable to work in the US. Hoping to sublet while I am away to cover some cost and for someone to take care of my apartment.
My lease is up by the end of August and will need to come back to move out of the apartment. If you really love the apartment, I'm sure the landlords would be willing to consider signing a new lease. They are absolutely lovely.
I can be contacted if needed if any problems arise during the sublet.
A standard sublease agreement will be filled out once we determine the dates.
Rent and a security deposit will be due upfront.
Will also request a cleaning service fee ($200 max) upon leaving.
