My wife and I are family planning and are looking for a 2-BR or 1-BR+den in Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Carrol Gardens, Boerum Hill, Fort Greene or Clinton Hill. Our max budget is $5,200.

The reason I am posting here is because despite us having great credit, great savings accounts balances, steady employment and good salaries, we've been denied from several apartment applications so far and were told "it was just too competitive".

We have to move out of our current apartment by the end of April so are becoming somewhat desperate.

We're in our mid-thirties simply looking for more space to have a child and start a family! We are quiet, clean, respectful and have lived in NYC for 15 years.

I work in music and my wife works in marketing. We're beginning to wonder if we need to consider leaving Brooklyn :(

We'd be eternally grateful if anyone has any leads! Our only criteria is what I mentioned above.
