It backs up onto Slide Mountain Wilderness. We’re right by the very best Catskills hiking, from Giant Ledge to Ashokan High Peak. Plus, upstate’s best swimming hole, Peekamoose Blue Hole. Music! 20 minutes from Bearsville Theater, Levon Helm’s Studio, Colony, Ashokan Center.

And of course, dining and cooking! 5 minutes to the stunning Bread Alone flagship, 7 minutes to Migliorelli’s dreamy farm stand. 10 minutes to Phoenicia Diner, Woodstock Brewing, Foxfire Mountain House, The Pines. Another 15 to Arrowwood Farms, Westwind Orchards, Stone Ridge Orchards… plus all the towns have to offer. The kitchen is small but mighty, and fully equipped. Hang on the back dining porch and watch the sunset behind the trees. Pop open local ciders or whiskey and sip on the comfy front deck. Lay a feast for a crowd on the gorgeous dining table.

Or just sit a hammock and stare out over the fields at the trees. Or just sit on the deck and stare out at the mountain. Snooze on the Barcelona chaise. Do yoga on the radiant floor in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows. Watch films projected huge on the wall. Play foozball. Gaze at the retro flames of our mid-century Danish electric house.
