Room available in a comfy Port Ewen apartment for the month of November! I am away this fall doing a graduate program in Texas and have had a subletter in my room for part of the time. But the room will be opening up again for the month of November and I'd love to find the right person for it!
I live on a quiet street in Port Ewen just two blocks inland from Broadway/9W and a 3 minute drive to the fun of the Kingston Rondout neighborhood (also walkable and bikeable to Kingston). You’d be living with my roommate Justin (32, Vassar alum, farmer, musician, climber) and his two very sweet cats. He is friendly and down to chat, share a meal, or have a friend over sometimes, as well as enjoy quiet space in the apartment. We try to keep the space generally tidy, but sometimes the cat toys will migrate around or a dish or two will get left in the sink during the morning rush to work.
We share a 3-bedroom apartment between 2 people which means in addition to my (your) bedroom there is also an extra room we share as a studio space, as well as the living room, kitchen, bathroom, laundry room (washing machine!), backyard, front porch, storage garage, and parking. The bedroom has a full bed, two bookshelves, a dresser, a small desk, and a closet.
Our apartment is a house divided into an upstairs apartment and a downstairs apartment -- we live in the downstairs apartment with a couple steps up to the front porch/front door.
The rent is $800/month, plus utilities which are usually between $125-175 total. We are also open to shorter term stays at an adjusted rate.
My name is Natalie (she/her), I am 32 years old and a Bard College alum. I have lived in Kingston since 2020, but in this Port Ewen apartment since December 2024. I am an artist and have worked as a cook, a sailor, a farmer, and a gardener around the Hudson Valley and beyond. I am in the southwest this fall in a graduate program called Land Arts of the American West.
My roommate, who you would be living with, is named Justin (he/him). He is also 32 but an alum of Vassar College. He has been working as a farmer in Poughkeepsie over the last four years and has lived in this apartment for much of that time. He likes to hike, rock climb, play music, read, write, cook, and play with his two adorable cats, Lark and Lightning (who you would also be living with).
We would love to find someone who is a cat lover, a good communicator, and comfortable with sharing and caring for a space.
If you are interested in the room I'd love to arrange a time to chat with you over FaceTime (or another video chat provider), and if it seems like a good fit I'd also put you in touch with my roommate Justin to chat with him too. We would appreciate if you could provide a couple references, perhaps a previous landlord, an employer, a friend, or roommate. If we decide to go forward with subletting to you we will ask you to sign a sublease agreement.
