We are looking for: mid twenties-early thirties, prefer women and/or queer folks, clean, respectful. We are all pretty left-leaning and hope to have a roommate that shares our values! Please share your vaccination status when you inquire.
The room(s) and apartment: This is for a bedroom and large (private) living room. The rooms for rent are $1300, pictured above, the first room is currently used as a private living room and can fit a couch, coffee table, desk, chair, mini fridge, dresser, and more. The second room that is used as the bedroom can fit a double bed, side table, clothing rack, and has a closet. These rooms are the first 6-ish photos above! The apartment itself is pretty big! It’s on the 2nd floor of a 4th floor walk up. A large shared living room, kitchen, and one bathroom, all pictured above, with three bedrooms off of the main hallway and one off of the living room on the other side of the apartment (yours). These rooms are the last 4-ish photos above! The building also has a roof with a garden that is accessible during the day.
The vibe: We keep a generally pretty neat and clean space, and it’s generally pretty calm around here! We give each other a heads up when we are having guests over. The building has a communal vibe and living across from Brower Park and near the library is pretty great!
The neighbourhood and transit: Again, we are directly across from Brower Park, the block also has a library, a children’s museum, and a middle school. The neighbourhood is very diverse, which we all love. We have a laundromat literally steps away, a grocery store on Kingston Ave (and many others within a 10-15 minute walk), a lovely local coffee shop called Pando’s also literally steps away. We are a 7 minute walk from the Kingston 3 and a 12 minute walk from the Kingston-Throop C. We’re 10 minutes from Nostrand Ave, and about 18 min from Franklin Ave, which are the two streets in Crown Heights with the most shops/restaurants/bars/etc (Colina Cuervo, King Tai, Crown Inn, Brooklyn Suya, and Cafe Rue Dix being some of the favs). We are about 7 minutes to Eastern Parkway, 10 to Atlantic Ave/Fulton St. Very close to the B43 and B44 buses as well!
If you’re interested please email and tell us a little bit about yourself, what a typical week in your life looks like, and any questions you might have for us.
Hi there! I’m looking for someone to replace me (Jesmeen) to finish out the lease with my wonderful roommates (Adam, Elizabeth, Sheena) since I’ll be moving in with a friend. Adam’s 27 and does editorial work, mostly WFH, Sheena is 22 and does editorial work, mostly in the office, Elizabeth is 27 and doing her MSW, mostly in person. We generally coexist and occasionally hang out (sometimes while watching a Bollywood movie).
Willing to stay until the end of the lease (end of July) but ideally looking to stay longer than that, as long as we all get along. We would ask for a security deposit up front, and our landlord will want proof that you are able to pay your rent! The move in date is the first Saturday of the month, which is October 4th, if that isn't possible/you need a slightly later or earlier move-in, happy to have a conversation to figure it out!
