About this Service

Join us this fall on the coast of Cape Cod for An Ocean of Our Own. This weeklong artist residency and retreat is for multidisciplinary artists, writers, and cultural workers craving space to slow down, reconnect to self and source, and explore how elements of nature and community shape the places we hold dear.

Hosted by poet and teaching artist Katya Borkov, this intimate residency blends restorative time with lightly guided communal offerings including:

* Writing, movement, and meditation programming
* Community meals
* Share sessions with local artists
* Cranberry bog excursion
* Day trip to Provincetown featuring art galleries, sand dunes and the national seashore
* Film screenings
* Bike rides

Artists will have time each day for their own creative process, whether that’s writing, napping, strolling the shoreline, or simply noticing what arises in stillness.

Open to artists of all disciplines. No prior publication or performance history required. Come as you are.

Program Dates:
September 19–26, 2025

Background and Expertise

Having grown up in Massachusetts, I've spent many years on the same shores you'll be visiting. This residency offers a cohesive, interdisciplinary curriculum through which you'll examine the practices and processes of placemaking. This container offers time to study and create without the stress of managing logistics.

I've developed a week of programming and excursions to take us into the history and natural elements which shape this place I hold so dear: from the cranberry bogs to the sand dunes, salt marshes to shipwrecked shores. We’ll watch films, read poems, meet local artists, and waltz with the waves on the autumn equinox.

It's the best time of year to be here. The beaches are quiet, the water is warm. We lay in the hammock to listen to the birds, we gather around the fire pit to tell stories.

This experience is open to all who feel called, especially suited for artists who are craving time and space to disappear into another world for awhile.
