We're renting out our spacious (1500 SqFt / 140 SqM), fully furnished, and stylishly decorated duplex while we travel. Sunny and perfect for remote work, vacation, or a staycation, the apartment spans the upper two floors of a two-family 1890s townhouse, located on a quiet, landmarked block in historic Stuyvesant Heights, Bedford Stuyvesant. Large windows on three sides fill the space with beautiful light, and original architectural details add charm.
On the parlor floor, you'll find the living room, dining room, and fully equipped kitchen (induction stove, dishwasher, microwave), plus an adjacent office nook and a full bathroom (shower/toilet). Upstairs is a huge primary bedroom with a king-size bed, a second bedroom with a queen-size bed, and another full bathroom with an easy-to-use washer/dryer. The living room couch converts to a full sofabed, so the duplex comfortably sleeps up to 6. Each bedroom and the living room has cable TV, and high-speed WiFi is strong throughout. There’s air conditioning in the bedrooms, living room, and dining area.
Step outside for yoga, tennis, or playground fun in the park next door. CitiBikes are at the corner, and the hammock in the backyard is a great place to relax. The garden is currently being upgraded, and by the time you arrive, it will include additional furniture and an outdoor dining table, accessible via our deck.
The A/C subway lines (Utica Ave & Kingston-Throop) are just 5–7 minutes away, with the A express taking you to Lower Manhattan in 20 minutes. With no traffic, JFK or LaGuardia are 30–35 minutes away by car. JFK is also easily reached via the A train or the B15 bus.
You’re 2 minutes from a supermarket, deli, and a patisserie, with a pharmacy nearby. Excellent local dining includes Peaches, Saraghina, Zaca, and Trad Room—all within walking distance.
If you're interested in staying, please tell us a bit about yourself, your length of stay, and who’s joining you. Include a link to your LinkedIn, Instagram, and/or AirBnB profile to speed up the process.
Utilities are included. Note: a $200 cleaning fee applies.
My husband is an artist and I'm a humanitarian worker and documentary filmmaker. We own the townhouse and the duplex is our home where we live. We're looking for responsible tenants who keep a clean house, and will make an effort to keep good neighborly relations i.e., no noise after 10pm, or parties with loud music. We consider dogs on a case-by-case basis, but one of us has a severe cat allergy, so unfortunately no felines allowed in any part of the house.
We require a government issued ID, a reference from a previous landlord, 1 month rent upfront, and a 1/2 month security deposit. A lease agreement will also be prepared for the duration.
