Neighborhood

Park Slope, Brooklyn

Transportation

R at Union Street; Atlantic Terminal (2/3/4/5/B/D/N/Q/R + LIRR)

Spacious, character-filled true 1BR duplex with a private backyard and a large finished basement, ideally located on President Street a half block from the Union Street R train and steps from vibrant 5th Avenue in the heart of Park Slope.

The main living level features classic decorative tin ceilings, original moldings, and architectural details. The kitchen was renovated prior to our tenancy with modern appliances (including dishwasher) and great storage. There is space for a living room, separate dining area, and a home office nook on the first floor, as well as a spacious bedroom with closet.

Downstairs, the private basement offers flexible bonus space for home office, gym, or storage. (We use it for a home office, brewery, sewing room, as well as ample storage area).

The apartment opens onto a quiet, lush private backyard surrounded by mature trees (including 2 small flowering trees in the yard). We have hosted many barbecues/dinner parties, grown dozens of kinds of herbs / vegetables / fruits, and spent many an hour lounging amidst the lush natural surroundings here.

Laundry is in the building in the shared basement.

The location can’t be beat. Commuting is super easy (we’re steps from the Union Street R train and one stop or under a 15-minute walk to Atlantic Terminal (2/3/4/5/B/D/N/Q/R + LIRR)). Prospect Park is a 12-minute walk and basically anything you need is within 5 minutes (restaurants of every kind, bars, shopping, and all everyday essentials), including a big 24-hour convenience store on the corner. The neighborhood is ridiculously grocery rich - we are 5 minutes from the Park Slope Food Coop, 1 minute from a large Associated market, and under 15 minutes from two farmer’s markets. The area is easily walkable to other great neighborhoods too (Gowanus, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, South Slope, Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, Downtown Brooklyn…).

We are looking for a sublet beginning Feb 1 (or Jan 29) through June 30, 2026. After that, our landlord will be wanting a 1+ year lease, which you can likely take over but would need to get her approval.

Rent: $4600 (we can discuss a nominal discount if able to move in on or before Feb 1)

Apartment will be unfurnished, although we could leave a few items behind e.g., side tables.

Sorry, no pets.
