The house is located in prime Park Slope on lovely 11th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues -- not on the fringes in any way. Some have said this block is reminiscent of Boston's Beacon Hill, with its red brick homes. Very close to the great Prospect Park which is the jewel of Park Slope, and the acclaimed restaurants, bakeries, cafes, bookstores and eclectic shops of both 7th and 8th Avenues. Truly a perfect location, mid block with some destination restaurants on the avenues: Winner (wildly popular, Michelin-rated take-out cafe) is right on the corner; Pasta Louise, Powerhouse Books, Brooklyn Bread, Cafe Grumpy, Russo's Italian deli, Ladybird Bakery, Zatar Cafe, and Flora are all just a 3-minute walk or less. 24-hour Donut Shop diner on 7th Ave by 9th Street. Parking garage up the block offers monthly rates. Street parking is often hard to find anywhere in Park Slope, and is even harder on 11th St due to the FDNY's reserved spots, but the firemen across the street do provide a great sense of security on the block. Under a 5-minute walk to either the 8th Ave or the 7th Ave entrances to the F/G's 7th Ave stop at 9th St; 30-minute ride to midtown Manhattan. In the other direction, it is only a 25-minute subway ride to Coney Island.
We value tenants with a cooperative, easygoing nature (is this you?). 1st floor/garden apt residents Abby and John, a professional couple, have lived here for six years, and they take excellent care of their backyard garden. 2nd floor residents Caroline and Joe have lived here for two years with their well-behaved dog (no other dogs permitted). All residents may enjoy the small communal space in front of the house, with table, chairs and umbrella.
We are a couple who don't currently live in the house, but we manage it ourselves. Husband/owner is originally from Italy. We've had an excellent relationship with all prior residents for over 30 years, and are always reachable.
Available June 14, or one week earlier if needed. Showings will begin this weekend by appointment. If you are financially qualified, and you feel your current and/or prior landlord would recommend you, please write to say something about yourself (and any other intended occupants) as an introduction, and we'll schedule for this weekend.
References/good rental history are the most important factors we consider, as well as a verifiable total annual household income of at least $190K. Thanks for your interest in space, light, beauty, history, being close to a world-class park, proximity to nearly every amenity in the premier brownstone neighborhood of Brooklyn, and the rare privacy that comes with top-floor living.
One or two cats welcome, no other pets please, and no inside smoking.
