We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Personal Shopper/Sales Assistant to join our team at Loella Medina Jewelry during the Grand Central Terminal Holiday Fair.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for jewelry, excellent communication skills, and a natural ability to engage with customers. You will play a key role in helping potential customers find the perfect piece of handmade jewelry for themselves or as a gift.
This position requires availability to work 3 to 4 days a week from November 10th to December 23rd.
✨KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Customer Engagement:
Proactively approach and engage customers, offering personalized assistance to help them select jewelry that suits their style, needs, and budget.
- Product Knowledge:
Develop a thorough understanding of our handmade jewelry collection, including materials, craftsmanship, and the story behind our brand, to effectively communicate this to customers.
- Sales Support:
Assist in the sales process, from initial engagement to final transaction, including handling payments and packaging purchases.
- Merchandising:
Help maintain a visually appealing display, arranging jewelry attractively and keeping the display area clean and organized.
- Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels and inform the owner of any low-stock items or popular pieces that need replenishment.
- Customer Service:
Address customer inquiries and concerns with a friendly and professional attitude, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
✨QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience:
Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience is preferred, especially in a jewelry or fashion-related environment.
- Communication:
Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Customer-Centric:
A genuine desire to help customers and provide a positive shopping experience.
- Attention to Detail:
Strong attention to detail, especially when handling delicate jewelry and processing transactions.
- Sales Ability:
A proven ability to upsell and recommend products based on customer preferences.
- Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks such as lifting and arranging merchandise.

- Knowledge of jewelry trends and styles.
- Familiarity with the holiday market environment a plus.
- Basic knowledge of payment processing systems (Shopify POS).
✨COMPENSATION:
- $18 per hour plus commission.
