Charming, quiet, comfortable ground floor one-bedroom, on tree-lined Powers Street in Williamsburg, in three-story brick 19th-century row house. Great transportation via L or G trains, close to both Lorimer and Graham subway stops. Two stops to Manhattan.
Lease to start Dec. 1, or possibly could start a bit earlier.
The apartment has two good-sized rooms plus a sleeping alcove, and a small outdoor space. Hardwood floors throughout. Brand new bathroom. Stainless appliances in kitchen. Plenty of storage space including a giant walk-in closet. Air conditioner and ceiling fans. Access to washer and dryer in basement. Well-behaved pets are welcome.
The large homey vintage kitchen has a 9-foot ceiling, updated appliances, lots of cabinets, built-in shelves, wood floors, and a closet, and is large enough to be a main living space.
The spacious second room has usually been used as a living room, but a couple of residents have used it as an art studio.
Off that room is a niche that holds a double bed with room for a small bedside table. Next to the sleeping niche is an enormous walk-in closet that can hold a bureau as well as clothes and storage.
A new bathroom, with shower, is being installed right now (so no photos yet.)
The back door leads to a small quiet private outdoor space (20 x 5 feet), concrete paved, that has (currently untapped!) potential.
The apartment is at the rear of the building, so is totally private and serene. Two steps at the front door are the only steps you need to climb.
Great for one person or a couple, plus a pet if you have one.
From this quiet, friendly residential block, walk to everything Williamsburg has to offer. Shopping, groceries, restaurants, and nightlife are around the corner on Graham, Grand, and Metropolitan. McCarren Park, Bedford Avenue, and the Domino Park waterfront are walking distance. Citibikes are two blocks away. Or take the L and be in Manhattan in ten minutes.
My son and live upstairs and are the only other occupants of the house. We've been here for 30 years and love the neighborhood. Our previous tenants have been very happy here and it has been a pleasure to have them. We look forward to meeting new neighbors.
I'm an artist and retired art professor. I own the house and have lived here for 30 years. Williamsburg has changed a lot, but is still a lively, friendly, convenient part of the city.
One year lease: one month security and first month rent due on signing ($2700 x 2). Proof of income, credit check (paid for by applicant), references.
No smoking in apartment.
