My roommate is sadly leaving the city for work so I am ISO one new roommate to take over a lease for two rooms in my sweet Ridgewood apartment.
2 small rooms with windows and proper light - One bedroom and the other to use as whatever you see fit! (I think it would make a fab closet space). My room is the size of your rooms combined and the rent is split evenly.
Bedrooms are on opposite ends for comfortable privacy, large kitchen space, cozy living room and lovely bathroom with shower and bathtub.
The apartment is on the second floor of a two unit building. 4 blocks from M line/15 min walk to L train.
Communicative landlord
I moved in March 2025 and my current roommate has lived here for over a year. Their furniture (mostly in the living room/some in the kitchen) will be replaced. Your walls will be repainted as well.
I’m looking for:
Females/non binaries preferred, must be in their late 20’s/early 30’s
someone who can confidently juggle responsibilities (your personal responsibilities and our house responsibilities)
MUST pay rent and bills on time.
someone who works mostly outside of the home for a mutual understanding of home as a retreat from long workdays and the effort of commuting.
prefer someone who keeps a busy schedule as I do. If you have a life, I love that! And if we naturally align in friendship I am open to that too. Don’t need to be best friends but want a warm/comfortable home environment that caters to wellness
I like to occasionally have friends over for tea/meals but not routinely. The space is not a party house but we can check in in advance for larger scale gatherings
I need someone who honors a home and naturally treats it like a peaceful, sacred space. If you don’t feel strongly and foundationally about this, it will not work between us.
This looks like; no outside shoes in the home, DEEPLY enjoys cleaning and resetting the space, sensitive to noises and odors, spatially considerate (doesn’t leave random things laying around/puts things where they belong), on top of shared chores/supply purchasing.
Please describe your cleaning style in the response so I can understand if we’re on the same page. (Have had my share of inconsiderate roommates and no longer want to clean up after others!)
Please include your social media info in the response.
:)
I’m a New Yorker who grew up in Queens, have spent the last few years in Brooklyn and moved into this apartment at the end of this past winter. I love to make the home beautiful, enjoy home improvement and I bring fresh flowers into the space weekly. This isn’t something I ask of you but want to live with someone who would appreciate it. And if it’s something you’re into as well then that’s a plus!
I’m a sculptor with day jobs as an archivist (4 days in person) and am often at my boyfriend's house a few days throughout the week. I enjoy yoga, cooking when time allows, warm weather at the park, hanging with friends.
