Position Purpose:
Egg Collective is seeking a thoughtful, human forward, organized, and relationship-driven People Operations Associate to work closely with our Managing Director and oversee the day-to-day HR and admin functions that keep our teams supported and our spaces running smoothly. This role blends human resources, operations, policy and culture, ensuring that every part of the employee experience, from hiring to payroll to community, reflects our company’s values. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced / multidisciplined environment, is curious, empathetic, research forward, extremely thorough and understands and holds reverence for sensitive information. 

The person in this role will work closely with leadership, department managers, and individual team members to maintain systems, uphold compliance, foster a positive/engaged workplace and is able and comfortable communicating and meeting all of our team members where they are to assist in the best way possible. This is not a “normal” HR role, we believe deeply that our staff is our biggest asset and we operate from that principle every day.

Essential Functions:

HR Administration & Compliance:
• Manage and meticulously organize all employee records, documentation, and data integrity across HR systems.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and city labor laws, including required postings and safety regulations.
• Maintain and update company policies and employee handbooks.
• Coordinate with external partners such as PEO teams, insurance brokers, and benefit providers. 
• Oversee workers’ compensation, disability, and paid family leave claims.
• Support the executive team with spreadsheet modeling, scenario planning, and research organization; translating policy details and big-picture ideas into structured, data-driven insights.
• Support safety initiatives, including OSHA compliance, organizing quarterly safety meetings, maintaining first aid stations, and overseeing fire safety and emergency preparedness.


Recruiting, Hiring & Onboarding:
• Manage full-cycle recruitment: drafting job descriptions and posting roles, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and facilitating hiring decisions.
• Partner with hiring managers to refine job descriptions and define hiring needs.
• Draft and distribute offer letters and onboarding documentation.
• Conduct new hire orientations and ensure a smooth transition into the company.



Payroll & Benefits Administration:
• Oversee payroll including timesheet review and accuracy checks.
• Manage employee benefits enrollment, renewals, and open enrollment periods.
• Track PTO, leaves of absence, and other time-off programs.
Support year-end reporting and audits.

Performance Management & Employee Development:
• Coordinate review cycles and performance check-ins with managers and employees.
• Maintain up-to-date job descriptions and org chart documentation.
• Support goal-setting, feedback processes, and professional development initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen communication and collaboration across teams.


Office & Operations Management:
• Oversee general office administration and facility upkeep including cleaning crews and pest control teams.
• Manage office and shop supplies, including kitchen and bathroom stock; monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed.
• Support leadership with special projects, scheduling, and company-wide communications.
• Assist leadership to maintain facilities as well as communicating with vendors and landlords when necessary acting as company liaison.
• Ideate, maintain and update internal operational documentation, processes, and procedures.


Event Planning, Culture & Employee Experience:
• Manage events at Egg Collective’s Manhattan showroom, including public-facing events and partnerships with external collaborators and vendors, ensuring they align with the company’s voice and values.
• Lead initiatives that build and maintain a positive, engaging workplace culture.
• Support employee recognition programs, milestone celebrations, and life-event gifting.
• Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, feedback, and ideas without bias or reaction. 
• Manage travel arrangements, including flights, accommodations, and itineraries ensuring seamless logistics and thoughtful attention to detail.
• Help ensure the company remains a positive, inclusive, and safe workplace for all.
• Contribute to building a culture of appreciation, transparency, and accountability.

Qualifications:
• 3–5 years of experience in HR and/or executive assistant roles, people operations, or office management (experience in a creative or manufacturing setting a plus.)
• Familiarity with HR software and payroll platforms (Paychex experience ideal.)
• Proficient in GSuite, Dropbox and Slack. 
• Working knowledge of New York employment laws and HR best practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort with spreadsheets, shared drives, and digital organization systems.

Pay and Benefits:
• $60,000 - $70,000 / annually commensurate with experience

Work Environment:
This job operates out of the Egg Collective Manufacturing Facility in Brooklyn, NY. This is a full-time, in-person position.
