In the rugged desert environment of Abiquiu, New Mexico, the secluded casita is located on Plaza Blanca (“the white place”), memorialized in countless paintings by Georgia O’Keeffe. On a remote mesa with spectacular views at the end of a steep dirt roadway, the 200 square foot casita is a modernist jewel that blends native rock and local materials and is enhanced with architectural details like large windows, real cork floors, and terrazzo in the kitchen and bath. Includes a light-filled salon with full-size bed and mini-split, a small kitchen, bath with shower, murals by Scooter LaForge, and 9 acres of pristine natural landscape surrounding it all. Sleeps 2.

The casita Is a space of deep solitude and silence—offering an ideal location to retreat, rest, write, and dream in the midst of a pristine landscape. This modernist jewel sits 150 feet above an arroyo on the edge of the Carson National Forest. Petroglyphs and pictograms abound, acres of trails, the village of Abiquiu, Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu Lake, the Chama river, and nine northern pueblos are nearby.

About This Lister

Like a Zelig, I am an ordinary person who has turned up with surprising frequency in a variety of settings that are extraordinary. I had long career as a specialist in Marketing and PR in the arts and culture in New York, Los Angeles and New Mexico, working with cutting edge creators and arts organizations. I am the director of Some Serious Business (SSB), a nonprofit nomadic producer of exhibitions, events, catalogues and books. SSB has hosted an artist residency program in Abiquiu, Hawaii, and Tuscany. I recently co-authored "We Started a Nightclub: The Birth of the Pyramid Cocktail Lounge as Told by Those Who Lived it," published by SSB and Damiani Books in Spring 2024.

For more than 20 years, I have lived in a house on a cliff at the dead end of a dirt road on a mesa in Northern New Mexico with coyotes, jackrabbits, and pack rats as my friends and neighbors. The casita sits a distance from the main house where I am in residence and is very private. Pronouns: she/her
