Hi there, we are looking for a roommate to join us in this amazing split-level apartment in Bushwick. I found this place during Covid and have been here since April 2021. . This is truly a special space—essentially two apartments in one—and I’d love to find the right people to share it with.
The main apartment downstairs is a two-bedroom, one-bath unit on the 4th floor, with each bedroom measuring 8’ x 13’ and featuring large windows and tons of natural light. The apartment also has a small living room, a private balcony, and an in-unit washer/dryer. This is where your room would be. You would be sharing the downstairs apartment with me across the hall.
What makes this setup unique is the additional loft space on the 5th floor which. The loft itself is massive, featuring a 25’ x 20’ open area and its own private balcony shared by everyone. While the loft does not have a kitchen or bathroom, it has been used creatively, including as a photography studio in the past. The larger terrace is amazing, and it’s open for everyone to use—it has a sofa, a picnic table, a grill, and the whole outdoor dining setup. If you’re into grilling or gardening, that would be great. There is an additional bedroom upstairs where your other roommate lives.
I usually budget around $100 per person per month (but usually less).
One of the best things about this apartment is that it’s pet-friendly. I have a 10-year-old dog, Kurt, who is incredibly sweet and loves hanging out with the humans. If you have a dog, that would be amazing, but at the very least, I’m looking for someone who is comfortable around them. The upstairs terrace even has a faux grass patch with a drain (doggie potty), which has been a game changer for having a dog in the city. It's basically like having your own yard.
The neighborhood is great—we’re just off the main street but still only a six-minute walk to the J and M trains, making it easy to get to the Lower East Side. The B38 bus is also nearby, offering a direct route downtown. The building is set back from the street, and we actually know our neighbors on either side, which makes for a nice community feel.
A little about me: I’ve lived here for four years. I moved from California, where I was a teacher, and I’m currently finishing my Master’s in Urban Planning at Pratt (I’ll be done next May). My schedule is pretty busy since I have night classes Monday through Thursday, but in my free time, I enjoy baking, woodworking, and gardening.
The other roommate is Lisa, who works in the music industry and she loves plants and cooking as well.
The apartment has always had a nice, relaxed communal vibe. In general, I’m looking for someone responsible, kind, and respectful—someone who keeps common areas clean, doesn’t smoke inside, and pays their bills on time.
If you’re interested, message me and tell me a bit about yourself!
Looking forward to meeting a great new roommate.

My schedule is pretty busy since I have night classes Monday through Thursday, but in my free time, I enjoy baking, woodworking, and gardening—I’m planning to build some garden boxes this spring, so if you’re into that too, even better! I also love film (I have a projector setup I keep meaning to install) and reading—history was my undergrad major, so I’m always into learning something random.
I'm a tenant on the lease.
