I am currently offering virtual psychotherapy for individuals located in New York. My therapeutic style is integrative and weaves together psychodynamic and social justice-based frameworks. These approaches emphasize connections between the past and present, and acknowledge the impacts of larger cultural and social systems on individual well-being. I am an active therapist and our sessions will be collaborative, reflective, and centered in curiosity. Many of my clients are navigating difficult life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, artist stress, burnout, low self-worth, and depression. In our work together, we’ll focus on your inner strengths and resiliency, while exploring the challenges you are facing with compassion, humor, and courage.
I affirm LGBTQIA+ individuals and ENM/non-traditional relationships and also have experience working with people of diverse cultural backgrounds.
In addition to direct pay, I am also able to support with filing claims for reimbursement for those with out-of-network coverage. If you're not sure if your insurance plan includes out-of-network coverage, feel free to reach out and I can help you figure that out!
My name is Christina (she/her) and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and practicing psychotherapist. I completed my BSW at Western Carolina University and MSW at CUNY Hunter College’s Silberman School of Social Work. My goal as a therapist is to provide a generative, caring space where clients can explore and better understand their challenges, cultivate a more trusting relationship with themselves, and experience greater joy.
Outside of the therapy office, I am also an artist and lover of travel, spending time when possible in nature or soaking up moments with loved ones.
Previously, I worked as a social worker with survivors of intimate partner violence, as well as individuals navigating structural oppression and economic insecurity. These experiences inform a holistic and human rights perspective in my work as a therapist, as well as my specialty in the treatment of trauma, emotional and physical violence, and challenges related to social and cultural stressors.
In addition to my background as a social worker, I also have over ten years experience working in the service industry and am able to provide therapeutic support for individuals navigating the particular difficulties of work in this field.
Currently, I work at a small private practice where I am supervised by Hala Alyan, a clinical psychologist, writer and educator. If interested, please send an email with a small paragraph about yourself and what you're seeking treatment for, and we can discuss scheduling a free 15-minute consultation to see if we'd be a good fit to work together!
