Our 1960s Colonial house has two stories, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and was recently renovated. We are located on a dead end street in a quiet and private neighborhood in the town of New Paltz. The house is just one mile from Mohonk Mountain House, and 8 miles to Minnewaska State Preserve, with beautiful hiking trails to the Bonticou Crag directly off of our street. We are a 10 minute drive to the village of New Paltz, and SUNY New Paltz, 30 minutes to Kingston and Poughkeepsie, and 45 minutes to Hudson.
Our upstairs has four bedrooms: one bedroom with a king sized bed and en suite full bathroom, one bedroom with a queen sized bed and desk + chair for working, one bedroom with a full bed and desk + chair for working, and one twin sized floor bed for a younger kid or toddler, along with kids toys, books, and a dresser that folds out into a changing table if needed. There is an additional newly renovated full bathroom with a bathtub off the hallway upstairs. The king and twin bedrooms have blackout curtains.
The downstairs is open concept and modern, with an entry area in the front and a mudroom in back. The living room area has a new comfortable sectional, lounge chair and a Roku TV. The dining room has space for 8. The kitchen is well-equipped with new appliances, and we have cups, utensils, and plates/bowls for little ones. There is a half-bath downstairs.
The basement is equipped with a new washer + dryer. We have AC units in each bedroom and downstairs. Heating oil, electricity, trash / recycling pickup and Internet are included in the cost of the rental.
Our acre + backyard is fenced, has a fire pit in the back, and a deck with an outdoor dining area, a grill, and Adirondack chairs.
To get here, you can take a bus directly to New Paltz from Port Authority, but it is best to have a car to get to the house and around the area.
If you don't have a child and would prefer the twin bedroom be used for an adult we can change it to more adult friendly furnishings.
We are a family of 3 and this was our family home until return to office requirements moved us back to NYC. I (she/her) work in the nonprofit field, and my husband (he/him) is a software engineer. Our daughter is 4 and will be leaving behind some beloved toys, books, and a room with unicorn decorations. We have a dog and 2 cats that have lived in the home.
We will show the house directly and will be the direct contacts. We have friendly neighbors who can check in on small issues.
