Hello. I’m moving out of an 4BR oasis shared with three other 30-something housemates (she/hers) who have made the apartment a Home. The space is a gem (and so are the people!). And I aspire to support them in continuing to foster the good vibes.
The space is two-stories, 2.5 baths, with a garden filled backyard nook, central AC & heat, a laundry room & a dishwasher, 3 bonus closets, 2 bonus spaces & roof access with a jazzy view.
The shared space furniture and knick-knacks will stay put. —And candidly, the house loves to continue to build and be intentional with the design of the space. Make. It. Shine.— aaand low-key continue to evolve the backyard into an English garden/jungle oasis.
There is a small tuxedoed cat, Nell. She likes to sneak into rooms and run around the backyard. She's neither super friendly or super scared, just likes to be around and keep an eye on what's stirring in the house.
The room is garden level, with a window peeking out to the backyard (quiet). It gets best light first thing in the morning. It’s medium sized and shares the garden level and bathroom (including bonus space) with one other housemate who is often away at her partner’s house (think: retreat & privacy). There is access to the backyard through the neighboring room — and the door is mostly always open.
About you: (Hi) We aspire to source a fellow 30-something (or thereabouts) housemate who shares similar aspirations, standards & synchronicities. Who values making an apartment a home and making community wherever you go.

About the She/Hers:
J— Is a film editor who enjoys hiking, running, and reading. She’s an easygoing treasure, clean, calm, and always up for a chat about film, novels, politics, dating in NYC over tea.
O—Has well-honed communication skills. She’s tidy and organized, loves design and tinkering in the garden and … chatting (full stop). Often is out of the house: on an adventure, catching a yoga class or movie, taking a walk or bike ride in all corners of NYC.
M—A dancer, chef, and writer! She zips around the city quite a bit but really appreciates a chill night at home cooking dinner or watching a movie. Loves digging in our garden and hosting gatherings in our beautiful space.
About me:
I'm making a career pivot that’s bringing me overseas. I leave this gem of a house having established great relationships and memories with the roomies, and hope to find the most fitting replacement for its next chapter!
The standard stuff:
— Available for rent & move in starting August 1st
— You'll complete a credit check
— Sign the sublease
— Pay 1/2 1st months rent ($550) + 1 month security deposit ($1100)
— The rooms are available as a 11 month commitment
As mentioned, my roommate has a 8 year young kitten. She's lived with small and usually elderly pups. There could (but probably not) be one more small pet in the space. It would be a case-by-case (with intros) situation.
